This Privacy Policy explains how My Local Window Cleaner collects and uses personal information when customers request window-cleaning quotes, window cleaners create accounts or purchase lead credits, and people use our website, dashboards, messaging and support services.

1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the platform, we may collect names, email addresses, telephone numbers, login/account information, postcode and property address, property and service details, access notes, messages, reviews, cleaner business/profile information, service areas, notification preferences, IP addresses, payment references and credit/unlock history. Card details are processed by our payment provider and are not stored by the My Local Window Cleaner plugin.
2. How we use personal information
We use information to create and manage accounts; publish and match customer requests; show relevant leads to cleaners; disclose customer contact details to cleaners who unlock or respond to a lead; process credit purchases and lead unlocks; send transactional and notification emails; provide messaging, reviews and support; prevent duplicate, fraudulent or abusive activity; maintain audit and email logs; improve platform operation; and meet legal, tax, accounting and regulatory obligations.
3. Lawful bases
Our lawful bases may include performance of a contract or steps requested before entering a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the marketplace, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where consent is specifically requested. Where we rely on consent, it can be withdrawn without affecting earlier lawful processing.
4. Sharing information
Customer request details are shown to relevant cleaners and contact details are disclosed to cleaners who obtain access to the relevant lead. We may also share information with service providers supporting hosting, email delivery, payments, security, postcode/location services and professional advice, and with regulators, law-enforcement bodies or other parties where required by law. Window cleaners who receive customer information must use it only for the relevant enquiry and their resulting customer relationship.
5. Payments and external services
Cleaner credit payments are processed through Stripe. Postcodes may be checked using a postcode/location service. Those providers process information under their own privacy terms as well as any arrangements they have with us.
6. Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above. The platform is configured so that personal details on closed, cancelled or hired leads can become eligible for anonymisation after approximately 18 months; operational, payment, fraud-prevention, accounting and audit records may need to be retained for different periods. We review retention settings as the service develops.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. No internet service is completely secure, so users should also protect account passwords and notify us promptly if they suspect unauthorised access.
8. International transfers
Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we will use an appropriate legal mechanism or safeguard where required by UK data-protection law.
9. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict personal information, object to certain processing, receive portable data, and withdraw consent.
